THINK YOU’VE GOT THE VOICE?

At That’s What They Said, we aren’t just looking to represent professional actors, presenters or comedians, we actually don’t mind if you have no experience in the industry at all, what we are looking for is someone with a unique voice and an interest in where this could take them.

Please do not send home produced reels, it’s really important that these are of a professional quality, up to date and show your range as this is what most clients will be choosing you based on, as well as us agents!

Your reels should reflect the area of the industry you want to go into. Commercial, Corporate and Narration reels should show your natural, native accent. If a client needs a particular accent, they will usually want to find someone who is native. Authenticity is key! If you have a specific accent or dialect from a certain place please state that, we get some very niche briefs so this is very handy information!

If you can do other accents that is great, and please do tell us, this is usually more for video games, animation or audiobooks when narrating different characters so should be on a separate Character reel.

If you are fluent in a language, please include this on your reel. Knowing a language is really valuable so do tell us! If you are a non-native English speaker, we want to hear your natural accent coming through.

If you would like to be considered for representation, please send an email to representation@thatswhattheysaid.co.uk with:

  • A short bio about yourself

  • Native accent

  • Languages and any other accents

  • Any related experience, links to Spotlight etc.

  • Location (we can only represent you if you have the right to work in the UK)

  • Home studio kit details (if you have one)

  • Head shot - it’s always nice to see your face!

  • Voice reels in MP3 format

  • General availability (Whether you have a full/part time job or are freelance so we know how quickly you would be able to respond to jobs/auditions)

Please put your native accent in the subject line, we get a lot of submissions and this really helps with filtering them!

If you haven’t quite got that far yet you will need to look into some training and get yourself a voice reel. We can direct you to some companies to help with this on our handy guide to becoming a VO but it is important to do your own research and find out what is best for you.

Although we are always looking for fresh talent, our main focus is to ensure we find work for our artists already on our books so please note we will only get back to you if we feel like we would be a good fit. Thanks for your understanding.
